Are you a UK resident, passionate about EDGE species and looking to get some great experience working in conservation in the heart of London?
If the answer is “YES!” then look no further!
There are two six-month positions available: we are seeking a Research Intern to assist with the development and implementation of ‘Species Report Cards’ – a simple monitoring tool that will enable us to quantify, for each EDGE species, any changes in threats, conservation attention and status since EDGE was launched in 2007. We also need a Web Intern – ideal for a creative individual – to help us increase the profile of poorly-known EDGE species internationally and assisting with securing funding for their conservation.
As the current EDGE web intern I can tell you that this experience is incredibly inspiring and worthwhile – I learned a lot about social media and marketing (before this internship I’d never sent a tweet or blogged in my life!) and made lots of new contacts, attended loads of free scientific lectures, attending conferences and training workshops too, and best of all I got to work right inside London Zoo! I wish I didn’t have to leave – I’m off to do a masters degree in Nottingham – but I know I’ll definitely keep in touch with the EDGE team!

GOOD LUCK!
